Inauguration of the new LUMIA/WISE laboratory at Luleå University of Technology – May 6

LUMIA (Luleå Material imaging and Analysis) together with the WISE (Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability) technology platforms WISE EST and WISE ACT invite you to the inauguration of our new high-end laboratory on May 6.

We will launch our Focused Ion Beam Scanning Electron Microscopy lab, fitted with both plasma and laser ablation. The laboratory is unique to northern Europe and with this equipment we enable absolute top-of-the-line analysis of different materials.  

In connection to this, there will be a seminar with invited speakers from industries in Norrbotten organised by SFMT (Swedish Society for Materials Technology), part of the Federation of Materials Societies in Europe (FEMS).

The day after the inauguration, May 7, we will arrange an informal seminar where people interested in the LUMIA/WISE labs at LTU can discuss different sample types and what one can/cannot expect from the different types of analysis hosted by LUMIA. This seminar is primarily aimed at PhD students and postdocs, but all are welcome.
